Eveld's rainbow lobs are absolutely a thing of beauty, and almost indefensible. I loved seeing those.

No matter the QB, I'd love to see a few of those to TJ Knowles in the end zone next year.

I don't remember seeing a fade pass called all year with BJ.

Then Fitz calls two on the same drive for Eveld.

What's up with that?

Its rather simple... Eveld can actually throw a fade pass and hit an open receiver where as BJ can not.

So it was just a bad dream we lost Saturday night .....?

The two fades that I saw on saturday into the ecdzone (in the 4th quarter) were okay. One was catchable and the other was out of bounds. Thats exactly what you want to do on that route in the endzone: put it where only your guy can make a play on it.

Well of course those 2 did not work out right... Bogan was covered too well and Eveld over threw to avoid a pick... I'm referring to his dual fade passes at Miami for the win.

He hit Miller for a beauty and I think Landi for another one.

The wr is almost always covered on those endzone fades. The object there is to put the ball where your guy can make a play with height advantage and/or knowing the ball's in the air. It's a tough throw and those two weren't good ... Still not sure why they were called.

You won't see a more perfect fade than the one BJ threw to B-B in the Pitt game on the last drive where he was mugged and couldn't catch it.

... and they both have the same completion percentage. There may be some legit reasons for Bobby over BJ but I don't see the evidence with those two reasons.

About that fade pass...both were out of bounds and almost impossible for Bogan to catch and stay in bounds.

I thought it was a bad call to do it twice when we could run the ball and run down the clock.

Bingo! Keep the clock moving possibly force Uconn to burn some T.O.'s instead of stopping the clock for them.  A playaction boot where we try to sneak the FB out or the TE on a delay would have been a great call too.  Those Fades were the worst possible playcalls outside of vodoo 5.  Quick plays, that stop the clock, and it's not something we do often enough to justify using it in such an important situation.  Bad playcalling but im glad Skip took ownership of it.
