In the post game show on the radio, Justin Palowski (The Commish) brought up an interesting point, could the coaching staff be "hiding" Shaw until USF gets into BE play? Every time he touches the ball he seems to make something happen.

It's be nice to see him a lot more over the rest of the season...

He is by far the quickest and most explosive of the backs we have so i hope that is true and we find ways to get him involved from here on out.

He looks like the real deal, very explosive.

RB position will be best ever at USF next year.

I was a little disappointed we didn't see him more last night.

I think it would be pretty silly to hide s true freshman and deny him needed experience under gametime conditions.

If he's that good, why hide him? That makes no sense. If that were the case, wouldn't we be hiding T-Rex, instead of having him return punts, too? Wouldn't it make more sense to get Shaw game experience before putting him up against league defenses?

We have no other real legit options to return punts but we certainly do have other productive options in the backfield.  Shaw wont be a starter but he will be a change of pace guy that you bring in for situations where he can be successful.  You don't want your conferencemates to already have a lot of film on a guy who you only use in certain spots, you want them to be caught off balance when he comes in the game.  That's the reasoning I could see with them "hiding" him.  I think its more of we really didn't need to use him last night as FAU couldn't stop us from just lining up and pounding the rock between the tackles with power runners.  Not sure of the play requirements but maybe he is still within the play requirements that he can be redshirted? Maybe he got a mysterious ankle injury on that first carry  >:D

I think he's legit, but remember he's playing fresh against a weakened team in the 4th.

Shaw ran for 12 yards on one carry at start of 2nd quarter.

Shaw given the ball 20 times no doubt in my mind goes well over 100 yards while plancher

couldn't do that vs one of the worst rushing defense in the nation.

I do think Plancher and Kelly would be good to use near the goaline.

I've been hoping to see more of him as well. I think Skip must be intending to red-shirt him, and is intentionally limiting his number of plays to stay under the limit.
