Friday visit campus while classes are in, go to the Bookstore (basically a 2 story department store) and the pep rally at night. (Don't wear USF gear to the pep rally - you may be turned away at the gate). There should also be a Friday afternoon USF team run-through at the stadium. Be there to cheer our Bulls as they get off the bus and head onto the field. Check out the chapels, performing arts center, arena, etc. Saturday morning brings out lots of vendors on the quad and their marching band does a pre-game show. All the frats, sororities and other groups march from the dorms to the game like a huge parade. It's really a fantastic atmosphere. Reserve your hotel room on September 4, 2010.Thanks for the tips... I;ll do all of the above except for the pep rally... I only wear Green and Gold.Once I can book a room I'm going to do it for Thurs-Sunday... gonna spend Thursday in Chicago looking around and the other two days in Notre Dame. From my research the best place to stay is the Morris Inn which is smack dab right in the heart of Notre Dame. However there are a number of places that will be cheaper just a stone's throw up Dixie highway.http://www.onetravelsource.com/attractions-hotels/US/IN/Notre-Dame/University-of-Notre-Dame_Notre-Dame/

And very expensive. The Inn at St Marys is nice, and nearby (just across from the campus) and located at St Mary's Inn. An all girls school (yes that could be dangerous for some of our fans, and you know who you are). Hotels are limited and not enough of them to accomodate all of the guests. Also, sometimes it is better to fly into Chicago Midway rather than South Bend due to cost of airfare. Also, you can stay 30 minutes out of South bend to get a cheaper hotel and have a better chance of getting a room. I truly hope to make it to this game. JoeB Posted July 8, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 9,765 Reputation: 596 Days Won: 9 Joined: 08/05/2005 Share Posted July 8, 2010 True there is no Greek system there. Its actually better because of it. Pretty much everyone lives on campus the first few years. The 'Halls' as they call them normally have tables and grills cooking the morning of the games. My brother graduated from there and was from Alumni Hall, one of the oldest Halls there. This one and Dillon Hall (next door) are the big male dorms. St Mary's would be a great place to stay if you could find room. My niece actually goes there currently. Morris Inn is really nice, but you pretty much have to have an IN there to get a room. Any other questions let me know. I've been up there a bunch and my brother has been a season ticket holder for the last 5 years or so.

Yeah I got the low down on Morris Inn from a faculty member today who pretty much said the same thing... as the game gets closer and people can start booking rooms / travel I will try to compile a list of hotels that have the best deals.
