Wonder why ? LSU,UF,Auburn & Tenn have over 2.6 mil for base salarys for their assistant coaching staff.Anyone like to guess or knows how much we paid our assistant coachs for the last four years ?Simple answer, economics. If you would pony up an extra $1M and designate it only for USF assistant coaches, we could get some top guys. Problem is no one will do that.As we just reduced the head coaches salary by switching from CJL to CSH, we opened up the assistant salary pool a bit and should hopefully have some upgrades. But we cannot have caviar on a bologna budget, it doesn't work that way. More butts in seats and More donors - equals more $$, and means we can improve our coaching staff. Home of a million excuses. We don't donate because we the Bulls don't have a OCS and play in the Glazers studium. Or they're not winning enough. I hate the color of the helmits. I am sure the PAC-10 and the Big-12 especially Texas have huge revenue bases compared to us. We are not even close to the Big-10.

Our school is not even 60years old. You are comparing us to schools that have been around since the 1800s. We might have a pretty large graduating class on a yearly basis, but come on we can not compare to schools that have been around for that long. We just do not have the same number of alumni as schools like UF, LSU and Bama. The more alumni, the more donations, the more donations the bigger the athletics budget, the bigger the athletic budget, the bigger the salary pool for coaches. I say that because the talk started before the team did and those folks were instrumental in getting it kick started.
