IMHO Gilbert is doing just fine. Sure his calls were vanilla yesterday but there was zero need for us to get crazy with the play calling. The game was never in jeopardy and we never really needed to throw the ball. Now if at some point this season we are tested and/or playing from behind and we're running the same plays I'll have some issues with that. For now though he's keeping things simple and manageable.

You can aim as high as you want. Realistically though you have to understand our schedule is ****. We stood no chance to make the cfp. Period. The end.

I'm not worried about the offense being vanilla right now. No doubt the coaching staff wants it to be vanilla the first two games of the season vs soft competition... It will get more dynamic as the season goes on. I am however worried about special teams. That's inexcusable.

Something about the whole situation that doesn't sit right... Committed to Clemson them suddenly chooses Maryland (who was never in the conversation). Then 24 hours later commits to UCF (who was never in the conversation). I smell NCAA violations... Or UCF has the lowest entrance standards of any FBS school.

Changed the channel after the first half (for good reason) but the kid's box score doesn't look that impressive... 7 rushes for 24 yards doesn't strike me as "beast" like numbers. An I missing something?

UCFs QB Milton looked pretty good. Granted FIUs secondary looked awful but the fact that this kid is a sophomore has to excite the fans in mouse town.

Announcers even made the comment that it puts a lot of p5 stadiums to shame. Also said it should be the gold standard for all g5 schools looking to build.

As I mentioned in my previous posts in this thread I do not think anyone is going to tell us an OCS is a prerequisite. However we can not kid ourselves and think we are Pitt, Miami or UCLA. Each of those schools has history, tradition, national fan bases, championships, heisman winners. We have none of those. We can't change that. We do, however, have the chance to build an OCS and I think we should do everything in our power to make that happen. If you don't think our athletic facilities, including where we play football, will come up when conference realignment happens again you're kidding yourself.
