Doesn't look good. According to Marquette's board, they have a post reporting it's official. No link within the report.

Hard for me to understand how someone would choose a Big East school in Wisconsin over one in Florida.  Oh well.....

Davante Gardner, a 6-9 center from Suffolk, Va., announced Monday that he has signed with Marquette, choosing Golden Eagles over USF.

Exactly...

only thing we have to worry about Ox any more for is when we play against him.

I would not have a problem with Stan holding on to the scholarship for a bigger fish next year... but I trust he will do what is best.

It is becoming a new "sport" to scr$w around with USF by hinting that you are going there and then dissing us at the last minute?  I don't know much about this guy, but I know we could use his size in the Big East - for as long as there is a Big East.

I'm sure it happens to other schools but to have Jose do it and now this guy just s*cks.

Anyone remember Shea Cotton choosing Alabama over South Florida during Seth Greenberg's tenure?

The funny thing about this decision is Marquette doesn't have a scholarship available and secondly and probably the most important thing is Marquette's style of ball doesn't really incorporate the Big Man in it's offense.

Oh Ox sure proved to be a bright guy didn't he?

Now as for USF we are fine as it is although I would like for Stan to add another player with potential in this class. With Dante Holmes choosing Marshall I wonder where Stan will go next. We could have used another wing guard/small forward type to provide depth there. I'm just not sold on Burwell. Cleveland Melvin is still out there so maybe Stan can entice him. I will have to look and see how many more good players are still left to sign.
