I thought Virgin looked really good at Tight End

I know there's a joke there somewhere?

LOL

Landi needs to be moved back to QB.  WR is not a position of need on this team, and he is sorely needed at QB.  He can instantly step in, in the event something happens to BJ.  Move Landi back to QB now.

Yeah it was nice to see Virgin get in there.

While I agree that we are currently way to thin at QB, l think that our new offensive scheme will decrease the possibility of a QB major injury. I also think that Coach Holtz may know just a little bit more than we do. With all of that said, if BJ goes down (within our current situation), we will be in a world of hurt.

I agree...we definitely need a Virgin at Tight End this year.  Every year matter-of-fact.

I don't like the idea of being so overly protective of BJD and not letting him run much. Running is his thing. He is one of the hardest players in college football to tackle in open field and taking away his running game and trying to make him a passer would be a really bad call I think. Just let him play his game and whatever happens, happens. I would rather him play his normal game and take the chance of getting injured rather than trying to turn him into something that he isn't just to keep him injury free.

Holtz is probably gonna change some player's positions when the depth chart comes out...wouldnt be surprised to see Landi at QB

Landi won't be at QB unless BJD gets hurt.  Gunsby, Eppes, and the kid from Jesuit are going to be the backups.  Maybe one of the two new walk-ons if they show something in practice.  One of our former QBs might get moved back there if they aren't cutting at their current position, but they all seem to be doing well at their new position.

I wouldn't be surprised if a transfer shows up in time for fall.

You all know we said the same thing last year about Grothe.  You cannot tell just from one scrimmage, or scrub time, or the rumor mill just what we have in reserve.  I agree with BBM, Coach Holtz probably has a little more knowledge on the team than we do.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
