In fact, Landi was pretty much even with Daniels as 2nd string QB when the season started, but was getting reps at both QB and WR because he was too good an athlete to keep off the field. We also had Virgin who was switched to tight end. It's not like Grothe didn't have replacements. The real problem was that they were young because Voss, who was expected to take over for Grothe, quit the team. We even pursued Marve when he left Miami, but he ultimately went to purdue where he thought he would have more opportunity at QB. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
