I think we are curretnly in the mid 60's.Interesting enough to see if we can get our RPI down to the mid 50's with 2 wins
I Bleed Awesomeness Posted March 3, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 856 Reputation: 58 Days Won: 2 Joined: 09/10/2006 Share Posted March 3, 2010 we dont have a shoot at the tourney....if what you say happens then the tourney team will just look to the SEC or big 12 for another team.the only shot we have at the tourney is if win the next 3 games (1 vs UConn and 2 in the big east conf tourney) and lose in the big east title game.it could happen (we beat g-town and battled cuse) got whipped by nova. but anything can happen and we actually have the talent to play the game. if things are going right.first you say we don't have a shot, then you say anything can happen, so which is it? and to say we don't have a shot means you don't watch very much college basketball.i agree. lets cut him some slack though, im pretty sure he has a drool cup attached to his chin. Big if, but why not.

Big if, but why not. That's a good thing? See St. John's why it's not a good thing...I like the probability of other teams beating teams ahead of us versus us winning games, lol.Seriously, it'll be close and I agree that if we have a 5 game winning streak to end the season we'll be strong consideration to make it in. That Central Michigan loss was such a blow to our schedule, hoefpully they're sympathetic about no Gilchrist for that game.

Just puts us on the bubble. We need a huge win. uconn is a big name but not Exactly a top team right now.Cuse won 21 games with a terrible out of conference schedule...left out.Our two good wins aren't enough. That will actually NOt help our RPI because it would hurt our SOS. We actualy fdropped one place after last night's win because our SOS droped almost 10 places.#3 beat The #8 or #9 seed that would bring us back into high 50 range. still NOT good enough.#4 beat Cuse or one of the other top seeds. This will get us in.So unless USF makes the Big East semis we are headed to NIT

summmit07 Posted March 3, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 25 Reputation: 6 Days Won: 0 Joined: 09/09/2007 Share Posted March 3, 2010 I was at work breaking down the different scenarios and what our resume would look like in each case to the NCAA committee. I am sure I missed or didn't think of something and would like to get other peoples thoughts. Lose to UCONN and Win Less than 3 Games in the BE Tourney- We don’t have a chance of getting in the tourney.Lose to UCONN and Win 3 Games in the BE Tourney- 21 wins 13 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt and Either Nova, WV or Pitt again.- 7-12 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 55-60 and SOS around 50-55This get us in the discussion but we are still outside looking in. Lose to UCONN and Win 4 Games in the BE Tourney (Nearly Impossible)- 22 wins 13 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt, Either Nova, WV or Pitt again, and a BE semifinal win. - 8-12 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 50-55 and SOS around 45-50This will clearly put us on the bubble, with a decent chance of making the NCAA tourney given a strong performance in the Big East TourneyLose to UCONN and Win 5 Games in the BE Tourney (impossible)- We would automatically qualify!Win against UCONN, 9th seed, and Win 1 Game in the BE Tourney - 20 wins 12 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt- 6-11 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 55-60 and SOS around 50-55We would be on the outside of the bubbleWin against UCONN, 9th seed, and Win 2 Games in the BE Tourney - 21 wins 12 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt- 7-11 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 50-55 and SOS around 45-50We would be on the bubble with an OK chance at making the tourney. Win against UCONN, 9th seed, and Win 3 Games in the BE Tourney (very unlikely)- 22 wins 12 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt and Syracuse - 8-11 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 45-50 and SOS around 40-45The win over Syracuse would get us in to the tournament, but it will be very difficult considering it will be our 3rd game in a row and they will be full rested. Win against UCONN, 9th seed, and Win 4 or 5 Games in the BE Tourney (nearly impossible)- Don’t need to go into the details we would clearly get in.Win against UCONN, 7 or 8th seed, and Win 1 Game in the BE Tourney - 20 wins 12 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt- 6-11 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 55-60 and SOS around 50We would be on the outside of the bubbleWin against UCONN, 7 or 8th seed, and Win 2 Games in the BE Tourney - 21 wins 12 Losses- Elite Wins against Pitt and against Syracuse- 7-11 against RPI Top 100- RPI around 45-50 and SOS around 45-50The win over Syracuse should get us in the tournamentWin against UCONN, 7 or 8th seed, and Win 3 or 4 Games in the BE Tourney (nearly impossible)- Don’t need to go into the details we would clearly get in. Just puts us on the bubble. That is not necessarily true. You could have this scenario for 21-12:Beat UConn and get a 1st round Big East byeWin your first Big East tournament game Beat Syracuse in the second Big East gameLose in big East semi-finalsThat would most certainly get us in.
