i would pass

Why?   How many times have you watched this kid play?  What are his stats?

This kid isn't exactly putting up stunning numbers.

Maxed out at 41 recs for 598 yds his soph. year. He had 12 receptions last year and didn't play the year before.

He has some nice tools physically, and I'm not sure why his numbers were down so bad last year, or why he was out the year before, or how conducive the offense was to big receiving yards for him, etc. I'd pick him up only because there's little reason not to, he won't be taking a spot next year if he doesn't pan out.

He missed all of 2008 with a hairline fracture in his back and missed a good chunk of 2009 due to a knee injury

I think it's hard to argue against bringing him in for a year.  With Love going down, there's all of a sudden a great need for depth and experience at the position. IMO his playing time wouldn't cut into the development of Griffin, Lamar, etc.

That's more than he's had in 2 years as well. Is the kid done?

He was hurt. He is coming back from injury.

He's been hurt 1.5 of the last 2 years. I think he's trying to replace a guy with similar issues.

It's a low-risk high-reward situation taking him so we might as well, but I wouldn't peg much on him. His numbers weren't exactly stunning as a sophomore and I'm not sure how much better he's gotten by not being on the field much the last 2 years.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
