Wednesday and No Hire

I honestly didn't think we'd be at mid-week with no hire.  I don't know if I'm pissed that we didn't have some ducks in a row beforehand, or relieved that Woolard is taking the time to find the right man.  But we should act quickly if we want to get that right guy for the gig...fallout from USC/Tenn/etc will start to affect us.

Optimistically I thought Wednesday would be the hire date with Friday being the latest possible date. I agree it needs to be sooner rather than later but we will be fine as long as this doesn't drag on past Friday.

Tennessee's search for a new coach will not affect us. They are throwing out names like: Muschamp, Cutcliffe, Patterson, etc. Whereas (and this is not a slight), throwing out names: Holtz, T Bowden, Magee, Stockstill.

If you can, catch Sportscenter. Right at the end (top of the hour) they make mention of us being in negotiations with Skip Holtz. I heard it at 7:57ish. Once they go live though, the show changes.

They need to have a coach in place by tomorrow.

The Recruiting "Dead Period" ends on the 14th and we need the new coach and potential new staff out securing our current verbals. This could become messy, with recruiting, if this drags on too long.

They will announce the hc (holtz) tomorrow.  They have the post-firing meeting today with leavitt, so I don't see any big announcements today other than espn saying "they have sources that confirm holtz will be the next coach"
