on the bright side the fact that we are deep enough that recruits who would start at other schools may be benched or RS`d at USF is a good thing.  it shows separation between USF and other schools like UCF, FAU, FIU, etc. that gladly start our leftover recruits much like we gladly start the leftover recruits from UF and Miami.

EXACTLY - This is more proof that we are getting better and better.  Recruits are not coming here so that they can get more playing time.  That's how we got better, getting recruits that would be 2nd string at UF and FSU but get more playing time here.

Again the only biggie here is Reese. I would think Godfrey would be 3-4th on the depth chart behind Daniels, Carnes, and fighting with Landi for the "up in the air position."  Gainer would be crazy to even consider us. In fact I honestly have no idea why any RB would consider us. We already have 3 commitments this season. Out of our already bloated backfield, we lose only Plancher. So our depth chart next year looks something like this:

J. Taylor

M. Ford (if he's not kicked off)

D. Murray

L. Lamar

A. Bellamy

M. Shaw

T. Powell

and like 3-4 other RB's who've never seen a carry. Also the current OC seems incapable of using the RB's correctly which would make me shy away if I were being recruited.

We could use some good WR's since ours have had a bad case of the butterfingers. But Mitchell, Love, Bogan, and Griffin provide a serviceable WR core that has continuity with the QB. WR should be a big deal because after next year we could be in for a world of hurt. Someone from the Richardson, Bryant, Wilson camp needs to step up. We also lose our only pass catching TE so things should be interesting.

I really don't understand the interest on either sides. We don't need anymore RB's on scholarship. I'd like to be realistic and say "I'm not inside the program so I have no idea what's going on." But after watching this mess since Andre Hall we're just seriously lacking any sort of direction on offense and I don't think those coaches have any idea either. Unless some of these guys move to other positions it seems pointless to me. And if that were the case then we should just recruit guys for those positions to begin with.

I just hope someone on the offensive side of the ball gets a clue. I like multiple RB's and think it's smart. One larger type every down back (Taylor or Ford) and a shifty change-of-pace guy (Lamar or Hopkins). Then *gasp* we could use a FB for short yardage situations or even Mike Ford. But no we do things like use Lamar when we're in our own end zone trying to get out or wait for Ford to get hot after like 6 carries then bench him the rest of the game.

Not if USF can get Plancher a 6th year of eligibility; they're in the process of submitting the application to the NCAA. I believe we'll have some current players in our backfield either transferring out or moving to different positions. May the best backs play!

I'm optimistic that our offensive line will be improved next year despite the lack of collective experience. Based on talent alone, I'm thinking O-line will be improved, if not, then Simmons needs to go.
