Anyone have any more info on the rayjay turf "system".  Any other field takes WEEKS for the new sod to adhere properly.  I stick by my original post.

That's 900 tons, remember what age people those will be

They weren't all old, that's for sure.  Saw a good mix of everywhere from 20 somethings up to the 40s.

And as for the sod, they can get it to take root very quickly with various chemical assists.  They've done it before with sections of sod on short notice.  It's not odd for them to replace a torn up section with less than a week's notice.  I'd guess the new sod will be all in place today as the last bits of the stage come out so there'll be about four full days for it to attach itself.

Here is some info about the sod farm. It may come from Greg Norman (maybe not) but I bet they use a similar system:

The swath of green destined for Super Bowl XXXV has been two years in the making. It was sprigged onto an endless flat field at Norman's turf farm, on top of a layer of plastic sheeting laid in the sand. Farm manager Jimmy Douberley and a small crew care for the grass, fertilizing with Milorganite, spraying with a root stimulant, putting blades of grass under a microscope to look for signs of fungus or insects.

The grass is mowed every other day, to keep it as short as a putting green. When it's time to remove it, large sheets of turf will be cut and rolled back, with the root system intact because of the plastic barrier underneath.

That's 900 tons, remember what age people those will be
