What to watch for on offense: The growth of QB Matt Grothe. Every staff member in Tampa is labeling the quarterback a new man, who's finally become a better student of the game. Let's see it.

What to watch for on defense: The defensive line. George Selvie is the headliner, but he's hardly a solo act. Just about everyone is back from last season, which means South Florida will be home to one of the nation's nastiest front fours.

And yet the write up on Bigeast.org stresses our strength at RB with all the experience. Hmm

in my eyes-- we are not weak at RB, we just lack a feature back who racks up numbers

the weakness of OL is certainly a question-- young guns need to step up huge this year

I list our other questionable/weak area as defensive backs (if limited to two areas).

As for the ranking-- it is simply nice to be in the equation but it is fairly meaningless. Only rankings that matter are the final BCS rankings

Gotta agree that there's no way we should be ranked.... Lost 5 out of the last 7 reg season games .... replacing 4 OL .... 2 new coordinators ... I don't get it.
