This is according to Fox sports net.

http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/9893592/2009-preseason-power-rankings

25. South Florida

Relative strengths: Quarterback, Defensive Line

Relative weaknesses: Offensive Line, Running Back

What to watch for on offense: The growth of QB Matt Grothe. Every staff member in Tampa is labeling the quarterback a new man, who's finally become a better student of the game. Let's see it.

What to watch for on defense: The defensive line. George Selvie is the headliner, but he's hardly a solo act. Just about everyone is back from last season, which means South Florida will be home to one of the nation's nastiest front fours.

Not trying to be negative or smazzaesque, but we do not deserve to be preseason 25 and I hope no one else has us there.

Most have us as 3rd or 4th in the BE and around 40 in rankings.  It is appropriate given our questionable OL and now PK concerns.

Do I think we can move into the top 25, yes (especially given our weak first 3 opponents).  Do we deserve it now, no - nothing indicates we should be there.

I suspect they have not put as much time into their research of the BE as they should have, or maybe did for the other conferences.

Florida starts with Charleston Southern and Troy.

And they may well be Nat Champs again.

As part of the SEC, and given a conf championship game, they will have no less than 7 or 8 games against ranked teams.

We won't.

i think we deserve #25.

we have a 4 year starter at QB, all american at DE, return a bunch of WRs, solid D-line.

sure we have question marks but so does every other program who will be considered for spots 20-30.

no one thinks we should start out ranked in the top 15.  but come on. #25 is within reason

A very mobile and opportunistic QB can help offset OL inexperience.  Supposing that the line gels quickly, performs well enough to open some holes and give MG just a little bit of time, I think that #25 isn't a bad place to put us.
