:ROFLMAO

A guy with a 50/50 TD:INT ratio in the 5th round or later? No effin way. A-R-E-N-A League or CFL.

Do some research.

Julian Edelman

Kent State

TDs - 13

INTs - 11 (practically 50/50)

Drafted:  7th round - New England Patriots

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/julian-edelman?id=238498

Curtis Painter

Purdue

TDs - 13

INTs - 11 (practically 50/50)

Drafted:  6th round - Indianapolis Colts

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2009/profiles/curtis-painter?id=81300

It's not common, but it's not impossible.  Edelman is also a ground threat like Grothe, but Painter isn't at all and still got drafted.  If Matt can improve that ratio to 65-70%, his odds go way up.

His mobility make him an interesting case ala Pat White.  All depends on what he does his senior year.  It will all come down to his speed though.  If he can run a 4.5 40, he may be a back up QB/WR/DB combo for a team.Unless you're 6'3"+, it's hard to get serious looks as a QB in the NFL regardless of the numbers you put up in college.  But if he does put up good ones, he'll get a chance somewhere...

if chase daniel and graham harrell weren't drafted, matt grothe will not even get an invite to a training camp.  those guys had a crap ton more talent than grothe.  and don't pull this "he's a sick athlete" crap either-- grothe has moves, but he is not fast or agile in terms of the NFL.  he's got instincts, but in the NFL, you need physical attributes.  grothe should go to law school and become an intern for culpepper/kurland or something.. he has no business in professional sports.

How about letting the kid play out his senior year at USF and wishing him the best for this season.  Grothe will have the opportunity of taking the Bulls to four bowl games and perhaps finishing 3-1 in the postseason.

Grothe could be in for a magnificent year.

For all the hate Grothe gets about interceptions he's one of the most dynamic QBs out there until about October. If our OC can be smart enough to not pull the same stuff out his arse that Gregory did and Grothe keeps his typical OOC play up through conf. play he could have a stellar year.

The guy is a fantastic QB, it gets old hearing people say they want Daniels in now, blah blah. Let's see what he can do with a real OC in there.

Anyone can see that Grothe's "fall off" every year has coincided with our O-line getting banged up and Grothe being forced to take risks and do too much on his own. I would love to see what he could do with a healthy O-line all year long.

although i dont think grothe will get drafted (nfl scouts are too obsessed with height and arm strength rather than ability to move the chains)

chase daniel and graham harrell are "system" qbs.  those guys dont have a "crap ton more talent" than grothe.

as for law school...have you ever heard grothe do an interview.  i assume he is gonna be looking for a career that involves the least amount of speaking as possible

Bad year to get that probably.

Like you would know if he has any business in professional sports! Remember this comment you made?

While funny, you sure love to accuse others of not knowing anything when they disagree with you, eh?

Good retort though, hopefully I've convinced you that I'm not a Selvie hater btw.
