Very solid line-up, Aki never excites me at lead-off, but with Perez staying up, or the staff apparently committed to him staying up if he can prove himself in the spring...I say you platoon him with Joyce, and on certain days have a line-up with Perez leading off, and Aki batting 7th.

Perez is a year or two away from being an everyday player........... just in time for the Rays to decide to keep or let go BJ.  If I was Joe I would have CC at the lead off spot and have Aki bat second. Aki seems to do very well with men on base.

Perez is going to be a great player, just needs the playing time.

he can play in the OF

He can play therer and according to the stats, he does a pretty good job of fielding IF he can get to the ball .... His Range Factor is not very good at all, however.

This was a GREAT signing by the Rays.  They filled a big hole at DH, and an even bigger hole against left handed pitchers.  Playing DH and playing indoors should help him avoid wearing down as the season progresses, like he has the last couple of years.  The Rays just got better.

He can play OF if needed, but he won't be there often.  At least we hope he won't have to play there often, because he isn't very good there.
