While they're 2 different types of bands... FAMU is a show style band and FSU is a corp style band... you'll be hard pressed to find a better marching band than The Chiefs. FSU's marching band program is imitated and copied all over the country.

To correct the geographically deficient:

USF band was in the EAST end zone.

Memphis band was in the Southwest corner. Next to their fan section.

Memphis percussion was very good and deserved the applause from USF fans that they got.

Memphis' band was better I thought.  Maybe it had something to do with their material.  The HOT material was a joke again.  Yep, we heard and saw it before.  Best thing about HOT was the baton twirlers.

Not even close.  Memphis was like a clean/loud high school band.  I thought USF played well.  In the dome they were quite loud and played consistently.

The Herd of Thunder halftime show was a ******* embarassment.  How can we be taken seriously with George Jetson and Stewie Griffin runnig around?  I'm not saying the band members themselves are not talented because they do play really well, it just seems that the direction and "leadership" is sorely lacking.  The Memphis band was classy and we could actually understand what they were playing.  Our band is telented, just fire the people responsible for picking what they play.

Unless they've changed it this season, the members of HOT pick the shows...  ::) And I may be mistaken but the majority of performers that were portraying the characters were in fact members of HOT... except for the older guy of course.

Maybe that's the problem...no adult supervision.  Then again, Greg Gregory could be considered an adult too so given how bad the play calling has been this year, maybe I'm wrong about the adult supervision part.

Was I the only one who thought Memphis' band's timing sucked?? How many times were they playing as the teams were setting at the line, and at least once, playing well into the play

There's plenty of supervision... and major established bands such as FSU and Michigan have done shows along the same lines (FSU did a bewitched show that had actors as well). The leadership of HOT is the strongest it's ever been.

It was a little hard to tell they were there, they have some of the same material HOT plays.
