it will definitely hurt us especially when going to nickle D.  he was the starter at nickle, which means his backup will now be starting - RS Freshman quentin washington

My opinion...

I doubt it will hurt us.

Danny had a nice freshman season, but hasn't done too well since then.  Always seems to be out of position.

Like previously stated in this thread, Quenton will be at CB and Roberts will replace Danny in the nickel. It's about time we gave some other people looks at CB anyyway

Looks like he may try to return for 2009... from his bio on GoUSFBulls.com:

"005: Claimed a medical redshirt season after broken foot ended his season before it started."

Can he?  Dudes been at USF longer than Jim Leavitt.

You guys are fascinated with medical redshirts. Verpaele has no basis for which to ask for a sixth year of eligibliity, best I can tell. He is not eligible for a medical this year because he played in the second half of the season. To get a sixth year, you essentially need two seasons in which you were eligible for a medical. He doesn't have that.

And don't rule out Louis Gachette replacing Verpaele in the nickel. The first nickel package Saturday had Quenton Washington -- and not Verpaele -- but Gachette has more experience ...

I know a lot of you guys are enamored with Verpale.  I just don't think he's that good.  In fact, he got hurt because of a lame attempt to tackle.  If someone has the video of the play before he got hurt, you'll see what I mean.

And why shouldn't we be, especially in the case of BJ Daniels.      ;D

we aren't missing much with verpeale out. I think Gachette can play just as well and Washington is the future being a young one, so itll help prepare him for the future.

Gachette better than Verpale, blessing in disguise.
