Verpaele has no basis for which to ask for a sixth year of eligibliity, best I can tell. He is not eligible for a medical this year because he played in the second half of the season. To get a sixth year, you essentially need two seasons in which you were eligible for a medical. He doesn't have that.And don't rule out Louis Gachette replacing Verpaele in the nickel. I just don't think he's that good. In fact, he got hurt because of a lame attempt to tackle. If someone has the video of the play before he got hurt, you'll see what I mean.
