Usually after the 3rd week his rankings get closer to reality.  Plus it is used as part of the BCS equation.

The computer rankings are still in their awkward adolescent years.

They don't look realistic until around week 6.  There's a reason the BCS doesn't come out until after week 6.  People wouldn't even allow the computers to be a part.

Not really.  No one knows how they'll turn out.  It would be just as foolish to put them at 45

FSU is ranked #24 in the AP poll so that is identical to reality.

Nobody knows how many of the teams will turn out seems foolish to do rankings then this early.

I think they will be good this year but so far they have not proved it yet vs a decent team we will

find out vs wake forrest.

precisely why the BCS rankings don't come out until later.  The computer guys know how silly it is to go by their rankings now.

I also think it's dumb to have the human polls out, but they generate so much $ for match-ups they wont go away.

FSU's ELO chess (which is what they use for the BCS) is at 46 and USF's is at 23.  It is still early and a lot depends on how the teams we played do.

Sure FSU hasnt played anyone, but WVU got trashed by ECU and they're 20.

Still too early to bother with these. The creme will rise to the top, but it'll take a few more weeks.
