The Whole University of Cincinnati has moved on without him, its not hurting the fans, the team,or Grutza at all. Grutza will be ready for thursday because Mauk is not coming back, and the fans of cincy don't want him back anymore, Everyone has moved on except for you guys who are always complaing on why is he appealing again, he has nothing to do with his life, he got a degree and he will never make an nfl training camp in the future.

Take it easy catfan... This has been followed everywhere (ESPN, CNNSI to name a couple places), not just by us.

It is good that you guys have moved on and admirable that you don't want him back.

Now this is just hillarious:

No decision on Mauk after all

Posted by BKoch at 8/26/2008 11:04 AM EDT

The NCAA has not ruled on Ben Mauk’s request for a sixth year after all

In the latsst twist in the Mauk saga, Kevin Murphy, the attorney for Mauk who confirmed Monday night that the NCAA ruled against Mauk said this morning that no decision has been reached.“The call that was made to me last night was a mistake,†Murphy said today.UC compliance director Maggie McKinley confirmed this morning that the NCAA has yet to reach a decision.Asked how a mistake like that could have been made, Murphy said only, “right now we’re still in the midst of this, so I need to focus on what we’re doing.“I’m just concentrating on being positive and I’m grateful that they’re looking at this thing and we still have an excellent opportunity to get a positive ruling from the staff.â€

The NCAA is not going to grant him another year of Eligibility. There is not substantial paper work to show that he was redshirting his freshman year due to injury. If they grant him the extra year then there will be a landslide of other players wanting their extra year because of "injury"

They are granting him another chance to more or less shut him up and get rid of this lawsuit that he has out.

If he wouldn't have transferred out of WF then he would be get what he wants but since he was already loopholed in so he didn't have to sit out his first year at Cinci they are extremely hesitant to give him another bonus.

Mauk denied again

Posted by BKoch at 8/27/2008 5:04 PM EDT

UC has confirmed that the NCAA has denied Ben Mauk's request for a sixth year of eligilibity. This is the fourth time Mauk has been denied. There will be an appeals hearing before the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee tomorrow afternoon. After that, Mauk has no further recourse unless he chooses to return to the courts.

He wouldn't be planning to go to law school, would he? Then at least all these appeals would make sense - he could put them on his application as practical experience.

Last night was his last appeal and he spoke with the NCAA committee  and he had a chance to talk for 10 minuets and answer questions in front of the five member board. We should be having the final decision as soon as they say yes or no to Mauk.
