Yes, they are building a new stadium... so why would they waste money refurbishing the stadium seats that are only going to be torn down anyway?

The soccer stadium won't happen for a while.  There are not enough funds for it, so the existing stadium will remain the soccer stadium for a while.

The Track and Field will still be a Track and Field stadium and believe it or not, people attend and watch these events.  They need somewhere to sit...  Just because the track is new, doesn't mean you tear down the stadium.

Also consider that there are soccer and track adn field tournaments held at USF.  More stadiums is a good thing, as it can host multiple finals at the same time....

Oh I did not know that they were building soccer a new stadium. Even if they are, they could spice up the Tack and Field seating so even when soccer moves out of there it would still be nice for T&F. They dont have to re-do the whole seating...just add some flair to it or somthing. Right now it just looks like a block of cement.

This a $2.79-million project agreed upon in May 2006, between USF  and Hillsborough County to renovate outdoor track and field facility.  The facility will be used jointly by USF and the county.

yes....yes it does.....sometimes USF really pisses me off with crap like this.....why do half a job of renovating a stadium........we need to improve every aspect of our campus image ASAP....

They are putting a new facade on the stadium, finishing off the under side, etc.  It will still be bleacher seating.
