Ereck Plancher, a redshirt freshman wide receiver collapsed after conditioning drills today around noon and has since passed away.

I don't know if he was related to your Plancher kid, but it's a sad day today.

Yes, he was Moises's cousin.

Terribly sad story... eerily similar to what happened to us with Keeley Dorsey last year.

My Prayers go out to the whole UCF family. Very sad. Hope your university finds a way to honor the young man. God Bless.

Just came across the story myself.  Very sad and feel terribly for Moises.  I wonder if the incoming freshman go through any sort of indepth physical before they come into a University or maybe these things just weren't catchable...

It must be horrible to lose someone like that so young ... I hope in depth studies are made into situations like this and Keeley's to try and detect problems before these tragedies occur.

That's a shame.  I'm real sorry to hear that.

I wonder if there's something the state isn't doing, because sadly Plancher makes three football players in the last few years in Florida who have died during a workout. Or do the individual schools do the testing?

Either way, it's horrible news.
