Sure, there are some tough games left on the schedule... U Conn suddenly looks much better than anyone had thought...However, this is such a crazy season ... there are only five undefeated teams... and just a handful more with only one loss. Which means we could realistically be looking at the best teams having 2 losses...Take a look at schedules the undefeated and 1-loss teams... Oklahoma and LSU have the best chance of remaining with 1-loss, but they have a 13th game: conference championships. If USF can win out, USF could easily be back in the Top 10... we have a wild football season yet to come...The final number is my though of their projected finish; and * denotes projected losses. Bold games are against another undefeated or 1-loss team.Big East

South Florida 6-110/27 @ U Conn, 11/3 Cincy, 11/10 @ SU, 11/17 L'ville, 11/24 @ Pitt11-1

Connecticut 6-110/27 USF*, 11/3 Rut, 11/10 @ Cincy*, 11/17 SU, 11/24 @ WVU*8-4

Cincinnati 6-110/20 @ Pitt, 11/3 @ USF*, 11/10 U Conn, 11/17 WVU*, 11/24 @ SU9-3

West Virginia 5-110/20 Miss St, 10/27 Rut, 11/8 L'ville, 11/17 @ Cincy, 11/24 U Conn, 12/1 Pitt11-1

Big East Champion: South FloridaACC

Boston College 7-010/25 @ VT*, 11/3 FSU, 11/10 @ MD*, 11/17 @ Clem, 11/24 Miami10-2

Virginia Tech 6-110/25 BC, 11/1 @ GT, 11/10 FSU, 11/17 Miami, 11/24 @ UVa11-1

Virginia 6-110/20 @ MD*, 10/27 @ NC St, 11/3 Wake, 11/10 @ Miami*, 11/24 VT*8-4

12/1 -> ACC Championship: Boton College over Virgnia Tech.Big 12

Kansas 6-010/20 @ Colo, 10/27 @ TX A&M*, 11/3 Neb, 11/10 @ OK St, 11/17 Iow St, 11/24 Mizzou11-1

Missouri 5-110/20 TX Tech, 10/27 Iowa St, 11/3 @ Colo, 11/10 TX A&M, 11/17 K St, 11/24 @ Kansas*10-2

Oklahoma 6-110/20 @ Iowa St, 11/3 TX A&M, 11/10 Baylor, 11/17 @ TX Tech*, 11/24 OK St10-2

Texas Tech 6-110/20 @ Mizzou*, 10/27 Colo, 11/3 @ Baylor, 11/10 @ Texas*, 11/17 Oklahoma9-3

12/1 -> Big 12 Championship: Oklahoma over KansasBig Ten

Ohio State 7-010/20 Mich St*, 10/27 @ Penn St*, 11/3 Wisc, 11/10 Illinois, 11/17 @ Mich*9-3

Big Ten Champion: MichiganPac Ten

Arizona State 7-010/27 Cal, 11/3 @ Ore*, 11/10 @ UCLA, 11/22 USC*, 12/1 Arizona10-2

California 5-110/20 @ UCLA, 10/27 @ AZ St*, 11/3 Wazzou, 11/10 USC, 11/17 @ UW, 12/1 @ Stanford10-2

Oregon 5-110/20 @ UW, 10/27 USC*, 11/3 AZ St, 11/15 @ Arizona, 11/24 @ UCLA, 12/1 Ore st10-2

Southern Cal 5-110/20 @ ND, 10/27 @ Ore, 11/3 Ore St, 11/10 @ Cal*, 11/22 @ AZ St, 12/1 UCLA10-2

Pac Ten Champion: CaliforniaSEC

South Carolina 6-110/20 Vandy, 10/27 @ Tenn*, 11/3 @ Ark, 11/10 Fla, 11/24 Clem10-2

Kentucky 6-110/20 Fla*, 10/27 Miss St, 11/10 @ Vandy, 11/17 @ UGa, 11/24 Tenn10-2

LSU 6-110/20 Aub*, 11/3 @ Bama, 11/10 LA Tech, 11/17 Ole Miss, 11/23 Ark10-2

12/1 -> SEC Championship: Auburn over South CarolinaWAC

Hawaii 7-010/28 @ NM St, 11/10 Fresno St*, 11/16 @ Nevada, 11/23 BSU*, 12/1 UW10-2

Boise State 5-110/20 @ LA Tech, 10/26 @ Fres St*, 11/3 SJSU, 11/10 UT St, 11/17 Idaho, 11/23 @ Hawaii10-2

(Aka root for Boston College and Kansas)I disagree. This kind of season PROVES that the regular season is a playoff. It's not single-elimination (like March Madness), but it shows how important it is to not only win games, but to have a strong schedule as well.Trust me, I used to advocate a playoff. Now I'm not so sure.

Now I'm not so sure.it IS single elimination for some teams, but not others.1-loss Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, OSU, USC, Michigan, etc. would all get consideration for a NC bid if there were only 1 undefeated team. they might also get consideration over some undefeated teams.but a 1-loss USF or Boston College or Kansas or Missouri would NOT get consideration unless all the teams mentioned above had 2 losses, regardless of schedule.that's single elimination.bottom line, regardless of SOS, big name "traditional" schools always get consideration over the lesser established BCS schools. it's a popularity contest based on perception which is not always correct (i.e. SEC is always tougher than any other conference), and not based on which team is actually better.a playoff system between the 6 BCS conference champions and 2 wild cards would solve some of that problem. Who gets the 2 wild card spots???USF is definitley in a better position that is was before joining the Big East. Getting to #2 this year and remaining competetive gives us credibility in the future. If we schedule agressively like we've done this year and go undefeated, we improve our chances at an NC, but not guarnateed one. Look at Auburn a few years ago, Yes an undefeated SEC left out of the NC game. If we were in C-USA we would never have a shot. Look at Tulane and Boise. Oklahoma, OSU, LSU, USC, Michigan, Florida, etc. are playing in March Madness.USF, Mizzou, Kansas, Cinci, BC, Kentucky, Virginia are playing in the NIT.it doesnt matter how hard or soft the schedule is (look at OSU), "big name" teams are allowed a mistake, while "no name" schools have to play PERFECT football all 12-13 games to even get consideration. Michigan is a "big name" and they were dropped like a rock... USC lost to Stanford and is outside the Top 10. I think you guys are blowing it out of proportion.
