All you guys that say there is "no rivalry" need to step back and observe the pure HATRED a lot of our fans have for UCF.

Some of the venom I see spewed here on a regular basis (not just during the UCF weeks) is vicious.

Seems to indicate a rivalry........no matter what you might say.

again, it has less to do with "rivalry" and more to do with shutting up the sh-t talkers.

when fans are taking personal (not game-related) shots at your coach, your players and their wives, OF COURSE u are going to have a particular desire to respond.

but the fact that we respond-- on the field and on message boards-- isn't evidence of a "rivalry"... that's like the flame blaming the kettle for being black.  they are flaming us and we are responding.

if there weren't so much vitriol on their part, it would be nothing more than another in-state game like FAU or FIU.

i mean, look at Miami/FIU last year...  the players PHYSICALLY went at it.  are they "rivals" ?  is Miami looking to schedule FIU to a permanent series?  hell no.

I say let our boys think this is a rivalry.  Hopefully it gets them more fired up and doesn't allow them to overlook UCiF.  Then discontinue the series anyway, it just doesn't make sense for us in any way, especially if we can start selling RJS out on a regular basis.

It may not be much to gain for the team, but it is a rivalry and is always fun to be @. Maybe they just should do it every now and then. Maybe USF is just the leader of the new school.
