The wife and I have to work and then have to wait for the sitter, so we won't have much time before the game to tailgate.  Is there a good pizza joint, not chain, between I275 and the stadium? I could call them on the way and pick it up just before we get the game.  Hot pizza, cold salad and beer.  AWESOME!

All the really good pizza is in South Tampa... Tate Bros., Sally O'Neal, etc.

Don't know where you are coming from, but if you want REAL NYC Pizza go to Alphonso's at the intesection of Bearss and Florida:

Alfonso's Pizzeria

14942 N Florida Ave

Tampa, FL 33613-1626

Phone: (813) 961-9856

There's also a Cappy's Pizza on Florida in Seminole Heights... between Hillsborough and MLK.

But nothing on Dale Mabry from 275 to the stadium.  I don't even think there is a bad pizza in that stretch of road.

Stay away from NYPD Pizza in channelside. That restaurant is what you would consider false advertising. It's like eating at domino's. There is nothing NY about their pizza.

Sounds like you're pressed for time and want to dart in and scoot out.

I assume you mean exiting off 275 onto Dale Mabry, heading North to Raymond James?

Then the answer is no - nothing worthy of note. The closest you would come is a chain

restaurant...
