Now he'll be the lead man for the Lightning, a team that has lost millions despite a great attendance record. There is no doubt he'll underspend then throw money at an aging free agent (he has in his last two stops)Living in Ohio I know that one of the things he was looking at was moving to Hamilton, Winnepeg, or Kansas City to help fix teh Blue Jackets who were losing millions too.I know he denied plans to move the team, and I don't think he will. But he's such a scumsucker that he could change his mind on a dime. man, what crappy news for the day...

A retail and hotel developer and a entertainment producer. They also bought the lease that gives them the Arena and the land to develop around it, about 5.5 acres. They will be the first local ownership the team has ever had.

I'll be honest, I'm a Lightning fan, but not a big hockey fan, so I recognized his name but didnt know much about him before this morning.

He's the guy that traded Anson Carter for a 5th round pick in 2008.He's the guys that underspends on actual young talent, yet will throw an over the hill guy like Sergi Federov and Adam Foote.Yes his run with Florida in 1996 was fun, but he was quickly run out thereafter. The reason Doug MacLean led a group to buy this team was because he knew no other NHL franchise would ever give him another position. He had to buy his way into one.Terrible move.
