Earlier today I wrote in this space that Marshall informed Woolard Friday he was removing his name from consideration for the USF job. I based that on what I was told by individuals that I have trusted and relied on for some time. They were wrong and so was I for reporting that in this blog. There was conflicting information and I apologize if I misled anyone.

Was there also a retratction in the Trib about the fact USF did not actually make an offer to Marshall as was earlier reported?

Glad Brett stepped up and admitted the error. Not many people would actually do that. It is just so hard these days to get the truth with all these Internet rumors and all, so you can easily fall into what Brett did.

I don't think he had much of a choice.

Brett is busting his tail on this story and he is doing a great job.

I, for one, appreciate his hard work to get us the information.

Anybody else besides me have the feeling that these are the same "individuals" that fed him the Huggy crap last year?  ::)

Being that you're all apologists and all, you need to realize that he's 1 for 3 in the accuracy department on his latest blogs. Since he changed the last blog, it's not as apparent.

I can appreciate hardwork but proper research and dedication need to go hand-in-hand in journalism.
