  1. Sorry, didn't bother reading the rest after T. Jones decided to create facts with, "Can USF find anyone to coach its men's basketball team? Yeesh, when guys such as Fran Fraschilla are turning you down, you have problems." So Tom, did you confirm that a formal offer was made to Fraschilla? Could it be that Fran was opportunistic and used the media to put his name out there by "withdrawing" from consideration. Who knows which is accurate, but I am sure it goes against journalistic principals to go to print with a fact that has not been verified. I've said this before, I want this guy's job. Little to no accountability, just sell papers.
  2. Was there also a retratction in the Trib about the fact USF did not actually make an offer to Marshall as was earlier reported?
  3. I'm curious if the fate of Shurron Pierson played in to Mike Jenkin's and Stephen Nicholas' decisions to return for their senior year. Probably not, but you have to look at his failure to reap significant gain from an early entry in to the NFL as a cautionary tale.
  4. Honestly, given the comments I'd believe more of a chance for Clark to book then Dawsey.  Like I said before Lawrence has some serious ties in Tampa, he'll eventually leave but not for a lateral move, he doesn't have to.  Dawsey is fine financially and making pretty good money at USF as well.  Clark was an interesting connection.  I'd love to keep him here for another 2 or so years.  Frankly this staff would be great to keep intact for another couple of years.  It really gelled this year. Agreed. I just think that given what has happened on the local and national scene every time a coach's name is mentioned and their subsequent non-committal response, it is short-sighted to put much weight into these words. Having said that, I think people / other programs may still be thinking like USF is part of CDOA in that it will be easy to pry an asst. coach away. For all the reasons every one knows, being on the Bulls staff is a very desirable position to have.
  5. Am I seeing things or is that guy's neck thicker than his head? Good gosh I bet that guy can hit like a tank. Hope this pans out for him/his family and the Bulls.
  6. IMO, the quotes from Clark and Dawsey reveal nothing with regard to their intent. Coach speak is an art form and these guys are working under a head coach who could offer a doctorate program on the subject. Does anyone honestly think that if Randy Shannon called today and offered the DC position to Clark at twice his current salary that he would turn it down? But, but...you said in the paper that you were happy in Tampa??? When the receivers coach or every asst. coaching position with UM has been filled with names other than Dawsey and Clark....THAT is when I'll be confident they are not going any where.
  7. Where was the line when you placed your....ahem....made your short-term investment?
  8. ....i HAVE satellite radio, and i'd rather listen to local when it comes to sports talk.... Fair enough. I listened to 620 and 1010 for years and the combination of uninformed hosts and lemming-like callers drove me away.
  9. It may be the #1 rated station, but c'mon...we're talking local radio. Get satellite radio and you'll never be subjected to having Deumig as your best option.
  10. If you are going to be critical, at least get the facts straight. The Trib has an article on today's game in the College Football section on page 10 of the Sports section: http://www.tbo.com/sports/bulls/MGBTIBJCXUE.html
  11. My wedding was in April and my groomsman's cake was the iconic Bulls logo.  It turned out great and our DJ played the Bulls fight song when we went up to cut the cake.  Unfortunately, it was interrupted by the DJ honoring my bride by playing the Gator fight song.  A poor precedent for equality was established... Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send you the .jpeg file I used to give the caterer to create the cake: jdbull@tampabay.rr.com
  12. And my personal favorite: "Well, if George Washington had a brother, he'd be the uncle of our country."
  13. You weren't out there in June 2005, were you? There was a guy at our resort that I could have sworn was wearing USF stuff but could never track him down .... Early April...made sure the Bulls were represented in Kauai, Maui and Oahu...
  14. I was on my honeymoon in Hawaii and was at the very highest point (i.e. approx. 10,000 feet) of Mt. Haleakala which is the tallest dormant volcano on Maui....and ran into two USF alumni....small world part of the story is that I knew one of them. p.s. The part of the story that I love is that they stopped us because my new bride, a UF grad, was wearing a Bulls sweatshirt!
  15. For what it is worth, I attempted to improve the location of my 8 seats during the renewal process this year. I was willing to be flexible in moving the seats by not having them all together, but was told that everyone in the sections for which I am eligible to move had renewed their seats. My ticket rep. went on to state they were having a terrific response to renewals / new ticket sales. That may not speak to the overall results, but I can tell you whatever sentiment is out there to not renew season tickets hasn't reached my sections...
