First of all, I am pretty sure someone like Coach K would come here and have a winning record within two or three years.

Secondly, like you say, it's only fair to assess progress.  But holy cow...at this rate of "progress," we will make our first Big East tournament in 2010.

Is that okay?

It's called a hypothetical.

How can anyone say that RMC inherited a disastreous team? Seth at least made it to the NIT, won a conference road game, etc. He just couldn't get us over the hump. The team wasn't that bad, but we took steps backwards.

we had a minor "thug U" ala cinci snas the stellar record.

with all the negative talk about CRM and all the misfortunes, this team for next year IS the best of his tenure. the team and record has improved in the toughest conference. the question: Is the growth fast enough?

make no mistake if CRM  leaves, this program would be in better shape than he found it...IMHO

Program was an undisciplined train wreck... Yes there were some wins, some talented players, but discipline was an issue, and it has been corrected!

Leavitt will be USF's Bobby Bowden/JoPa.

You are Correct my friend!

Moot point here.  Leavitt is the 1st and only coach the footbulls have had and for him to have a losing record he'd have to go below .500 for many seasons to come.

Would he be fired, unsure.  We still don't know what Woolard is going to do with RMC.

Some of you can't see the forest for the trees.  You're missing the argument. I used Leavitt in reference to standards. There are many ways to cut a cattle; some of you are cutting it the wrong way. I mention Leavitt because he is the moniker of success at USF. Inherited program or not, RMC must go. His conference records are 1-15, 5-11, 1-15, and 3-13. How does that show any sign of promise?  And don't play the "what if†card because it doesn't work. What if such and such wasn't kicked off or injured...blah blah...it's not valid. I mean what if Matt Grothe wasn't injured against ECU? We could've had another 30 points. However, he was injured. It is what it is.  My point about RMC previous record @ WMU is valid. What did he do at WMU that was spectacular enough to coach here? Typically, losing programs bring in coaches that have been associated with a winning program to right their ship: Amaker=U of M, Calipairi =Memphis, B. Davis=UNC(football)....despite the fact that it doesn't always spell success. Anyone who can sit her and substantiate that a coach should be given another shot after seasons of 1-15, 5-11, 1-15, and 3-13, does not care about USF basketball. This is ridiculous. Are we going to keep him around so we can go 4-12 in conference play in 08? Come on, let's have some standards. Let’s take pride in all of our programs. The tradition of losing needs to go.

Spectacular enough to coach HERE?? You're acting like this was some plum job that we should have had high profile coaches tripping over each other to get. Take off your green and gold glasses. Mac turned around a WMU program and had actually won a post season game. Hell, the winning of the post season game alone should have been spectacular enough, considering...

Anyone who can sit her and substantiate that a coach should be given another shot after seasons of 1-15, 5-11, 1-15, and 3-13, does not care about USF basketball.

Just because some are analytical enough to NOT lump those 4 years into one piece of work doesn't mean they don't care about USF basketball...

The thread just reminds me of the sillyness that occured when people wanted Leavitt fired after his second losing season in 8 years  ::)

Since then, he's taking us to two straight bowl games.  Viva Jim Leavitt  :)
