FYI...at least 50 Women's Div I-A Hoop Programs last year averaged at least 2,200 plus fans per game.

24 of them averaged at least 4,000 fans per game.

College Women's Hoops isn't for everyone...but at some schools...they draw good crowds for their sport...and many times, larger than their Men's games.

Last year's Top 50 in Women's Attendance:

Side Note:

10 Div II Women's Team's averaged at least 1,600 plus fans per game.

K_L I usually don't rip on you, but your pointing out our attendance problem is freaking rediculous. I did promotions for a cable network a few years ago and one of my gigs was going to the UCF women's basketball game.

Literally, there were 127 people there. According to the NCAA

UCF - 345 a game

USF - 647 a game.

Almost double...

I agree with what everyone says about Women's Basketball. Yes, it's a very hard sell because women's sports aren't as mainstream as the men are. Personally, i feel there needs to be more promotions for game beside wear your USF gear. Toss some money out there and have things like a discounted beer night or a Jose Fernandez bobble head night. I know that if you get people to show up for things like that, they stay for the game and get hooked. I think it's the only way to get people interested. You pretty much have to bribe people to go. It doesn't horrible to do something like that but what else is there?

Who wouldn't want a Jose Fernandez bobble head??

Everyone doesn't have to go to ALL the games, but you can just check out the schedule and attend as much as you can. Everyone knows that people have a lot going on in their life. I agree with Lau in the article, students need to come out to more games, but USF needs to give them more of a reson to make it out there. I'm out there as much as I can and i will be until the day i move away from Tampa.

You gotta spend money to make money right? Poney up for some USF towels to give away. People love that crap.

Those girls work hard and they deserve to be supported. I know everyone on this board would make it out there but people on this board aren't the problem. It's everyone else not on the board that needs to get out there and boast attendence.

If you attend anymore WBB games, i challenge everyone to bring a friend or 5 and report back and tell us about their experience at the game. IF they liked it, didn't like it and why. Lets see what other people have to say about this situation.

I am upset i won't be at either of the games this weekend, but i'll be with family in Orlando so hold it down for me and GO BULLS!

Act like you’ve been there before. Turns out, for many of us, we haven’t been there before.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
