I think Rod Smith was a bright young star in the making.

I always thought he wasn't a decent coach who competed with half the talent as most of the big teams we played.

I don't think Smith was a wonderful offensive coordinator, but for people to try and say he didn't have a good year this year given the deck he was handed (RS Frosh QB, no RB, etc.) I thought he did a very good job.

I personally am glad that Rod Smith is gone.

I like Rod. ..

Have I told anyone that yet.

yes, and I was hoping he was going to get better, but there was good and bad with him so maybe we'll improve.  as long as the coaching and recruiting doesnt decline we'll be ok, but with frey gone we'll see if we can maintain recruiting.

Rod did a very good job this year.  I can't understand how people can not see that.  I hope he won't be missed and the offense doesn't miss a beat.

This is what happens when a program is on the rise.  Other teams will go after the assistants, and sometimes the head coach.  I like that Leavitt didn't just stand around with his thumb where the sun don't shine.  He took initiative and hired coaches as soon as he could.

I willl have to see how we look, but the new OC doesn't have as hard of a job as Rod did this year.  We have a returning QB, a bunch of returning WR's, a stud RB.  I expect decent production, new OC or not.
