Our schedule with who our opponent beat in parens ().

W vs 2-4 McNeese St (WVTech, S. Utah)

W vs 0-7 FIU

W vs 2-4 Central Florida (Villanova, @Marshall)

L to 4-3 Kansas (Northwestern St, La-Mo, USF)

L to 6-0 Rutgers (@N. Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Howard, @USF, @Navy)

W vs 3-4 UConn (Rhode Is, @Indiana, Army)

W vs 1-6 North Carolina (Furman)

USF's defeated opponents are a combined 8-25

USF's I-A defeated opponents are a combined 6-21 (with three wins over I-A opponents)

USF's BCS defeated opponents are a combined 4-10 (with two wins over I-A opponents)

The teams who beat USF haven't beat that big of competition either.

Sometimes I don't understand the mentality of this board.

Sure our wins are not against world beaters, but neither are Rutger's wins and they are solidly entrenched in the Top25.

The only thing we can do is beat the teams on our schedule. Along the way we are getting some positive press around the country and our name is now regularly dropped on ESPN and ABC. Slowly but surely I have noticed the talking heads on those networks, feel more and more comfortable talking about our program and have begun to say "USF" without having to explain who we are. When Chris Fowler interrupts Herbstreit and says, "don't overlook USF" that is a pretty good indicator of how our reputation is growing. Do you think he would mention our name if we were losing?

All this attention is  a byproduct of winning, or in other words no such thing as a 'bad win'.

Sure our wins are not against world beaters, but neither is Rutgers and they are solidly entrenched in the Top25, and if we would have had Ponton and Julmiste we would of beat the Scarlet Knights.

This is all a by-product of winning, or in other words no such thing as a 'bad win'.

But the facts are the facts. That is who we beat and who our opponents beat.

Do I think we can beat Cincy? Yes. Do I think we can lose? Sure, if the Bulls play badly. Could the Bulls lose every game for the rest of the season? Possibly. Could the Bulls win out? Within the realm of possibility, but don't bet the bank on it.  ;)

I root for the Bulls. The Bulls have been getting better every game. I think the Bulls should go 7-5 for the year. But I wouldn't be surprised with 5-7 or 8-4 either.

Even if all our wins were over bad teams, our wins are getting better.  The team is better.  The last two wins were better than the first 3.  I hope we continue to improve.

Exactly!  This was my point in my post (see above.)  The people (media) who vote don't REALLY KNOW anything other than "oh this teams is 8-2, guess they deserve a vote."

I assure you, if we beat Cincy moving to 6-2 and some other key teams lose, we'll probably get a vote.  Beat Cincy & Pitt and at 7-2 we will get a bunch.
