next year.  Rutgers is losing a large portion of thier offense to graduation, Pitt is losing it's "star" QB, and we get WVU/LOU at RayJay.

We competed last year for a big east crown until we laid an egg at UCONN.  but were in it until last 2 weeks.  Seriously, though, probably next year, since we have both UL and WVU at home and MG has a year under his belt.  I'd like to say this year, but realistically, even if we beat Pitt and SU, we would be hard pressed to win one of two at UL and WVU this year.  If we had beaten RU, we possibly could have competed this year.  I said competed, not win.

I'm in agreement with those who think 2007 will be the year we compete for the Big East title. We should be able to replace the LB's we will lose to graduation and we will bring back the main components of our offense, sans Thed and S.J.

We get the 2 most difficult Big East teams at home and the 2 most difficult road Big East games will be against teams that will be heavily rebuilding.
