If we're leaving him at OC, we need to hope the QB coach can handle that position.  Rod can't.

We also need someone specifically to step up and stop the 8000000 stupid penalties/game.

Playcalling, at least, looks better.  The offensive plays are executed a bit better too, although I'm curious what we can do with a starting-caliper tailback in.

The fact that Matt Grothe ran the ball more than ZERO times after our SEASON flashed before our eyes is enough to tell you that Rod Smith is a freaking moron and will NEVER succeed at this level.

1 good game of play calling against an obviously overmatched oppenant doesnt make up for his numerous past mistakes.  Im not "on his back" but he had done very little to make me believe in him as an o cooridnator.

steve- many fans are new to the game and dont seem to understand the distinction in beating a uconn as opposed to a rutgers.

likewise,many will be surprised when usf looks bad against pitt,ul and wv/

The last few years he was QB coach and pass game coordinator. Two jobs he excelled at.....not.

I think Rod is improving but so is the talent he is using. Grothe can think on his feet and audible, something that makes Smith look much better. Some of the calls are still suspect but he is getting better.
