Its very hard not to...perfect timing!

That said if Ponton, Julmiste, and Chambers got their suspensions upturned before UCF (or now for that matter) we'd all be justifying it like my father justifying the Gators doing it.

No doubt, but sadly USF had more of a reason to over-turn then UF.  At least our policy had chanced and was effective beginning this school year, and the drug test offenses occurred mid-summer.

It's moot now, but given the circumstances at UF I hope the Tribune, and Slantinal remember this, and never come down on USF again unless it's absolutely warranted!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not really true about our guys either though ET.  We haven't had a bye week, so when you're into weekly practices there is no time for those guys to get running with the #1's or #2's.  All three are working out on scout team, tough punishment for sure.

The article in the Sentinel said it was an Urban Meyer rule that suspended players could not practice with the team.

That's irrelevant really, he's still working out with the team not participating in physical practices running with the 1's and 2's...doesn't matter anyway because that only hinders a team.   Our guys aren't doing that either, you've got to spend each week coaching up the guys that are actually going to play the next week.

Good point, smazza. I looked it up, and the after-effects of THC can remain active in the body for up to 30 days. IIRC, the UF kid said he was tested only about 3-4 weeks apart. So it is plausible that he only used pot once.

Though I agree with the others, the timing is mighty coincidental.   ::)

CyberBull,

That is the same reaction I had after finding this out. Why doesnt Bianchi call his beloved UF program a renegade program?? Why doesnt Biachi just state that if UF beats LSU it will show you what everything is wrong about college football. Bianchi hates USF with a passion. You guys thing Duemig hates USF, you should just listen on how many cheap shots that Bianchi takes at the USF program. He just does not want to see another program rise up to the so-called BIG 3 (I personally have never really believed in this term anyway). Bianchi takes the top prize for yellow journalism in my opinion. The guy is so biased towards UF that it is sick.

Gee talk about what is wrong about college football and a real renegade program.

Players beating up their girlfriends, drug and academic suspensions etc....

Let's see if  Mikey "Douchebag" Bianchi writes about his outrage....

Here's Mikey's column today about "Herb-an" Meyer's Gators:

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
