Smazz, what good would it do to keep them off the team the remainder of this season?  Seeing that the team is suffering because of their absence, wouldn't extending that suffering past the policy guidelines only increase the animosity towards them and perhaps the coaches?  Why should everyone's season be tanked?  To prove a point to a few guys that likely already get  the point?  Why not just tell them they will be tested regularly and the next incident, if there is one, results in their dismissal and loss of scholarship?  Wouldn't that suffice instead of watching the season go down in flames and all the blame being put on them prior to their return the following season?  Give me some good reasons please.

Not having a running game hurts.

Not having a reliable kicker hurts.  CJL threw the "coaches under the bus" because he did not want to tell the truth.  He did not want everyone to know that his crappy kicker cannot kick a 20 yard field goal.  So yes the kicker cost us in the Kansas game.  The kicking game in general cost us this passed week.

We NEED a running game next to GROTHE and a kicking game to help out the "BEND but don't BREAK" defense.  These two things and we would be 5-0 and ranked.  Simple as that.  Now we will struggle just to be bowl eligible.

They've got a lot of work to do to make up for their selfish stupidity.  These are valuable scholarship dollars and these clowsn have let down a university and their teammates not to mention their families.  Good job, guys....at a minimum, please learn something from your actions.
