Mike G will destroy us!    I guess some of us want to have a BIG 3 following without the growing process... The Big 3 did not get a large following overnight.. It takes time...Ucf has had football for 25 years and they travel 5,000 more to a usf game then we do?  Who cares?  In 15 years we will travel better also!  Mike is Right... (you do not here that very often!)

I'll never understand why we worry so much about attendance.

It matters for a lot of reasons.

1) Bowl committees pay attention to how well we travel

2) We look pathetic on TV

3) Some (not all) recruits take notice

4) It's certainly a barometer of your true fan base, indicating how far the program has come (or not come)

It's a road game for gosh sake, I know it's our dream to have the Citrus Bowl bleed green and gold, but we know in all honesty that even a patch of green and gold in Knight land will be better than no patch at all.

And I'm not talking about having 25k Bulls fans there, but if we're struggling to get 5k????

Send 4,000 to a game 70 miles away and bowl committees are only going to start to question how well we will travel to their games. The MCCB added Navy to their rotation for a reason, the Bulls fans that were there were awesome. However, they need numbers, not committment.

And the Non-BCS game excuse is poor. Two of our bowl games are against non-BCS teams, it only hurts to not have the Bulls fans in Orlando.

Getting back on topic.....Thank you students for supporting OUR team and I look forward to cheering our Bulls on to victory with all of you this Saturday!!!

They do look at bowl attendance, but one game is not going to be enough to convince them completely (see: Navy/MCCB agreement)

Among factors are season ticket sales, attendance, and student support, etc. Bowls also look at road attendance in a 250 mile radius, 500 mile radius, and 1000 mile radius.

No bowl is going to make a decision on one game so the UCF won't be fatal. However, don't think for a minute that pulling 4,000 fans for a game 60 miles away isn't going draw their attention.

These bowls in the business of making money and creating an avenue to advertise the city and what it has to offer (especially the smaller bowls). They are not making their decision on who to take off of what we drew for our 1st bowl game ever.
