Orlando is the perfect example of that. Champs bowl was an embarassment attendance wise. I think there were only 20,000 tickets sold for that one, and less than that were in the stands. USF going to Charlotte was great. Any USF fan that went up there had a great time, except for the blanking on the field. BullDoug Posted June 19, 2006 Group: Member Topic Count: 469 Content Count: 4,451 Reputation: 52 Days Won: 0 Joined: 12/27/2001 Author Share Posted June 19, 2006 This not about "not" being happy to be in Charlotte but to me it's a no brainer.  I was happy to go to that game.  For those lesser bowls, most of them are in crappy winter towns or have CUSA, MAC, or some cruddy matchup and are in midweek just b4 Christmas.  All I'm saying is the Houston bowl should move across the Gulf to Tampa.  At least we have beachs, Busch Gardens and Ybor.  Put it 2 days before Christmas and kids will be on Christmas...err winter break.  Citrus Bowl & other bowls do it.  Y not Tampa?  An yes I believe it's totally unfair Nebraska (chose this one 'cuz of personal history) had to play UM & FSU in FL on 4-5 occassions for the NC before they finally won thier 3rd NC.  Yes it's unfair but why not jump on that bandwagon. You could make some dough to help defer the cost of the site, we could all meet and have a better time than the USF sponsored event. I would be interested. . . . . .
