Pitt game on the 5th ?

MORE TV TIME?: USF's season opener against Pittsburgh could be picked up by ESPN and moved from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6, Labor Day, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. The game would be played in the afternoon before the FSU-Miami game. ESPN spokesman Mike Humes said the Pitt-USF game is among a large pool being considered for ESPN or ESPN2. It also could be moved to Sept. 5, and as part of the deal another USF game would be broadcast by ESPN, possibly Oct. 2 vs. Southern Miss.

That would give us 3 nationally televised games ...

Actually Sunday might be ideal.  The NFL doesn't start until the following week.  

Sunday, September 5th, Labor Day Weekend.  If promoted properly we could possibly get 40k out there easily.

i must not be only one complaining plus attendance would be bad on labor day at 4pm

If the game was to be moved from Sat, I think Monday would be much better for local attendance.  Granted people traveling in for the game would be more affected if the game were to be on Monday, but the attendance from the local community would be much better if the game were moved to Monday. This allows people who are going to the beach or out of town, time to get back and still enjoy a great game on Labor Day!

  Many people would skip the game in favor of a family vacation if the game was going to be played on Sat. or Sun.

ESPN would not show USF-USM on a Saturday.  The game would probably move to Friday or Thursday as part of this deal - more schedule juggling and lower attendance.

The article didn't mention that there would be a date change for the USM game as part of the deal, so unless I hear otherwise I'm presuming it remains the same.
