WTF is going on  >:( people on our own campus were celabrating the Gayturds victory tonight.  I call my friend at UCF and he says it is the same there as students living on their campus honked their horns and yelled outside and were even dancing in celebration.  I know there was a lot of Gayturd shirts on our own campus today and Gayturd flags flying around Tampa, but for our own students to celebrate, geez.....

Is it really a surprise?

Florida has the largest fanbase in the state. Lots of UCF and USF students probably would have loved to go to Florida, but staying close to home, finances, grades, convenience led them to attend UCF or USF.

It takes time to build a solid fanbase. Right now, UCF and USF's quick rise has brought a good group of fans... but you have to remember that many of them for awhile will still be a fan of another program first and UCF/USF second.

Heck, FSU still has that issue. There are plenty of Gator fans in Tally.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

    Jim Leavitt
