Those "other" schools appear to be coming up fast behind the state's superpowers. Both teams went to bowl games, and both are in respected conferences. Both also are locking up talent that could secure even better days ahead.

Respected conferences??

C-DOA wasn't much regarded as a football power BEFORE L'Ville, Cincy and USF migrated over to the BE and the crop of schools they brought over didn't do much to bolster the recognition.

Everyone and their brother is still crying that the BE shouldn't be a BCS school because they don't have schools named Miami and Va Tech anymore. WVU and L'Ville helped reverse the trend somewhat with their bowl performances, but come the pre-season I'm sure we'll find ourselves in the same boat.

I'm not trying to complain about some actual positive press about football in the BE, but it looks like he was just trying to find something nice to say to bolster his spin.

I live in Melbourne where the Florida Today is published. They treat UCF as the home college football team. It's only about 45 minutes away and they have some satellite classes here.

I wrote them a couple of times to let them know that the area is full of USF families (students and alumnae) and will are interested in what's going on with the Bulls.

I doubt if my letters had anything to do with it but there has been more USF ink recently. I think it has to do with the greater attention we are receiving in the state and the country.

Do any out of the top 10 recruiting classes actually get ANY press at all?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
