For starters:

CJL has won more games then he has lost

CJL has brought us over 3 million in bowl earnings

CJL took a program that had was non-existent and built a team that consistenly wins more games then it loses.

CJL has sent players on to the NFL

CJL has contended for conference titles

I mean give me a break.  To put MAC and CJL in the same sentence is a insult to the man who will end up building this athletic program single handily.  I mean do you think that athletic center got built because of our basketball program?

You never know with this SU squad. McNamara is off and on with his 3's, Nichols is too. Neither one can drive the lane. Big man Roberts can't shoot. Watch out for  their freshman Devendorf though, he's gonna be good.

Let's refine the question .......What did CJL do in the first three years with the program that CRM hasn't?

Sills... a player with questionable character in the late period over nothing at all... no risk...

Gonna disagree Velcro.  I know this is hindsight but CRM shoulda took a chance on a kid with marginal talent but great attitude & grades just because a kid like that deserves it more than Sills.  USF wouldn't of been left with a starting, walk-on guard that has obvious issues w/the fear of missing a shot.  This is not a knock on Capko just an observation from last nite.  CC is a walk-on for a reason.  Now if the recruit cupboards were full then Mac coulda took that chance on Sills.  I'm sure CRM has learned a lesson but I consider him a wise coach.  Here's an idea.  Give Chris the schollie and the confidence it would imbue.

The schollie wouldn't change anything, imho.  Chris is a marginal PG with the heart that you are talking about.  

If the recruiting cupboards were full come the late period Mac would not have bothered with Sills.  We didn't have a full roster and there weren't options at that point... it was take him or leave him and we are done.
