Several of the OGS from the Big East glory days are leaving us too soon. Antagonist Posted May 16 Group: Member Topic Count: 155 Content Count: 5,249 Reputation: 342 Days Won: 2 Joined: 10/09/2007 Share Posted May 16 RIP Mike. one of the cornerstones of the best era in USF football… a few names come to mind when i think about those days— Grothe, Jenk, Honeybuns, JPP, BJ, T-Mac, Jessie, Taurus, Trae, Carlton, Big Rich Kelly— but Mike will always be one of the first players that comes to mind when i remember those days in the student section He was a cool dude off the field in his post-football days. being from the south side of the Skyway (Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto) we ran in circles with mutual friends & he was always good for a few words about his boxing career & other endeavors. I really thought he was going to find a niche using his natural talent. Such a loss at only 38 years old. Rest In Power, young man. As we move further away from the big east and Leavitt days, I have realized how lucky we were to experience so much success when I was student there.
