Professional athletes on ncaa scholarships. They are making it easier for them to get more nil money so the ncaa and universities don't have to share their profits.

these kids are professional athletes now. Lets stop pretending they are "Student" Athletes. NIL is ruining College sports. Kids deserved to be able to get paid something. Max should have been some sort of reasonable number, maybe 50k. but to just have these kids jump to a new school or demand more money from their current school is a joke.

How about we stop only blaming the players? The coaches account for half the transfers b/c they are always seeking better players. So there is no loyalty on either end.

Sometimes I wonder if the NFL has of creating it's own players development programs for kids coming out of high school

They are something different. Professional athletes typically sign multi year contracts.

I would love to see student athletes have multi year scholarships offered to them. That could stop the portal craziness.

Lots of discussion lately on how this is ruining college sports and not whats best for college sports. But whats best for the college athlete?  I see the change being made that all college athletes will be employees of the NCAA and receive a base salary. With that, legally they will be able to fold in employment contracts and restrictions, mimicking what we saw before. Players will still be able to receive NIL money but will have restrictions on transferring, due to the employment contract.

Kind of reminds me how tipping culture evolved.  Restaurants not wanting to pay regular wage so it's passed on to the customer to supplement the employees salary.  NCAA and universities never wanted to share the profits so NIL was created to take more money from fans and donors to pay the athletes so the NCAA and universities don't have to.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
