Basically the NFL is going to save college football is what Im predicting. I was thinking the P2 would eventually dissolve many years from now but now I do believe the NFL will speed up the process and make the playing field more fair imo

I think this is the dumbest idea, b/c why bother attending college if they become paid employees? Work study for an average college student is 10-15 hrs a week. You might as well make a minor league like baseball and let them go straight out of high school. The logistics of it all are dumb. An average CFB already gives up 12-15hrs hours of his life daily. That's 70-75 hrs per week dedicated to football and school. If I'm a full-time paid employee then why bother going to school?

This is a CFB player schedule

  • 6:00-7:00 a.m.: Wake up
  • 7:00-7:45 a.m.: Eat breakfast
  • 8:00-11:30 a.m.: Class
  • 12:00-12:30 p.m.: Eat lunch
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Lift
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m.: Fuel and recover
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m.: Meetings
  • 3:30-5:30 p.m.: Practice
  • 6:00-6:30 p.m.: Fuel and recover
  • 6:30-7:00 p.m.: Eat
  • 7:30-9:00 p.m.: Study

You forgot collect the NIL checks from the fans all day every day.

The lawsuits that we hear about are much more damaging to the P5 conference members I believe.  But as they have the revenue streams to payout if needed (and we don't), I'm uncertain where their risk level is versus ours for damage from retro pay-for-play.

The article has quotes from WVU and Syracuse administrators. They're concerned.  Still, they've never been relegated to G5 status.  Hard to sympathize.

I mean, they went from being 'P5' to being 'non-P2' (G7?)

They are what the CFP structure says they are.

The ACC is still getting paid  more than the majority of FBS  football and just want more more more. Greed and Corruption to create huge advtanges for power programs is killing college sports.  I don't think the current college students value sports nearly as much as we do.

Good point.  When it ceases to be as important to the fans, the bottom line goes away.  And since carriage fees are going away, a lot of programs are going to suffer due to that diminished importance and demand.

I always thought that college football would eventually break out to more regional conferences. Now it looks like the NFL will help make that a reality. USF is going to be put into a great situation imo
