This is the thing that bothers me the most in regards to how a team is viewed. I remember that we started off the 2011 - 2012 season 7-6 and went on a good run in Big East play. Obviously, playing in that league was a huge reason that we received an at large bid.

2 losses 2 and half months ago shouldn't be an anchor holding this team back from an NCAA Tournament bid. We obviously have to continue to win, but no one can say that we are not one of the better teams in the country at this moment.

On the flip side our schedule has been very soft. OOC schedules are a huge thing for teams in lower conferences. I understand and support the reasons we had such an awful OOC schedule. Nobody in Athletics including coach really expected this. A new coach needed to get some wins under his belt. If we were in the same situation again I would schedule a weak OOC schedule. Losing to 2-3 of those awful teams is going to kill you. We have a couple of nice wins (FAU, Charlotte, Memphis, and FSU) but is that a resume at this point you give an atlarge too. I think you will find more deserving teams. If we had a huige win in December we would want that win counted, just as the losses are part of the resume. The turnaround just happened too quick. Which is a good thing, but our schedule will likely cost us if we dont win the tourney.

I 100% expect a better OOC schedule next year.

It will be very interesting to see what the coaches and ap voters have to say in a couple of hours. I suspect we gain a few more votes, but not as many as ppl on this board expect.

Yes, the OOC schedule is soft. I would figure that is going to be greatly enhanced going forward. Hopefully we can be invited to some good tournaments that have good teams playing in them.

That is why the NET is not the end-all-be-all. Ultimately, a committee of humans is going to sit down and consider our case for inclusion. If USF is 25-6 they will be in the mix. Anything less than that, I don't think we have a chance.

Definitely doesn't help that Memphis is in complete free fall since our win against them

USF is the betting favorite on FanDuel to win the AAC regular season.

Agree with your points except for one-the turnaround wasn't too quick, it was perfect timing. We've got national attention on us on a daily basis, we're showing up on national TV.

That SMU +460 is a good bet. I won't make it, but if the Bulls were not in it I would be all over that value.
