Wow hiring some Rutgers schmo to run the conference is not what I envisioned

You expected better? What would give you the idea that leadership in this conference is competent?

Oh wow! I hadn't seen this. Great news. He had no vision for the AAC. The idea of going after schools with very little football success, but located in big metropolitan areas was wrongheaded from the beginning. Hopefully when it comes time to add more schools to the AAC  this time around they will look at programs who can bring more to the table. Teams that can be ranked in the top 25, get big wins against power 5 schools, win bowl games, and bring our strength of schedule up. Mountain West teams, Marshall, Liberty, Toledo, Appalachian State, ... should be looked at.

FAU, UAB ,and UTSA were good adds though.

Wish him the best .

App State would have been my dream school to add. I hope some day we schedule a series with them.

I go up to vacation around there every fall and it's just amazing, imagine having the bulls play up there...sigh....

App State, Marshall, Toledo, and Liberty should be considered during the next expansion ( assuming that the Mountain West teams aren't options). I worry though they will look at Georgia State, or other teams located in big Metropolitan areas instead.

VCU,, and Dayton as basketball only.

I would love playing them at their place one time.

I have vacationed in that area multiple times and it's absolutely gorgeous. Their campus and Football stadium are very picturesque as well.

Too bad tv contracts and power conference invites are primarily based on football. So he didn't bring the aac any closer to any power conference by inviting a crappy football program.

If FAU has a crappy football program, what does that make ours? They dominated us last year and already have an OCS. 🤷‍♂️

They beat our butts and it better be a win next year. Traditionally they have been worse and they have a worse overall record and win percentage. We have more bowl wins. We have been ranked 47 different weeks to Fau's zero in the ap polls. We have put more players in the pros. So I would say our football program is better, but we need to create more separation by winning.

Fau 105-137

USF 148-141

WE WERE also the fastest fbs program to ever win 100 games.  Sadly Scott set usf way back and Golesh was a 600% fbs win improvement in year one. We went bowling last year and they didn't. I expect Golesh will have the boys ready to beat then to a pulp like Syracuse for another beat down in Boca.

both programs are pretty equal as is. We were 6-6 last year and they were 5-7. Not much difference. We were a force at one time, but it has been years since we have been relevant in CFB.

Didn't we finish 7-6? We had a winning season and a bowl win. They had a losing season and didn't get an invite to go bowling.  The separation between the two programs is still there , and Golesh has  some work to do make Usf relevant again.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
