I'm supporting the turn around and a coach that actually wants to be a top program that will actually put in the work to get there. We finally hired an aggressive, no nonsense coach, wants to get tough in the trenches again, wants to outwork his counterparts, and that will coach guys to never quit again.  He seems to be the offensive version  of Jim Leavitt. It's year  one but it was by far the best year one of every coach at usf but Jim.

It seems it is like this in all areas of work.  There's a handful of people that actually are in it for the journey and the process. The real ones.  🚀

It is the only guy since Leavitt willing to put in the work and coach guys up. Golesh is actually trying to address the weakest  link the defense. Willy had to hire TJ to coach the offense up, he wasn't capable on his own. Scott was the worst at developing  and recruiting talent. Charlie never cared thought it was a one and done, but they he kicked to ucf's best returner taking any chance away. Holtz  was a flop and couldn't coach or recruit new blood after year one.

Yea but CCS won 11 games his first year which makes him the second or first best coach we have had per your logic, don’t flip now, Strong is your guy so stick with him.  Alex couldn’t hold Charlie’s jock per your observations, why the turn of heart?

He still is the second most succesfull usf coach. Golesh is third with his bowl win and win percentage. If Golesh can top this year he can move above Charlie. Statistically Charlie is better, but one could debate Golesh did more with less . Never hard a change of heart just you and the Titos talking/

There's never been a more clear example of the age old cliche "stats are for losers" ....

The long version of the cliche is "people using stats to try and make nonsensical points are losers" ... too wordy, so shortened.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
