This is the way you got to think. USF is. going to have one of the top 10 highest payments on stadiums in the country so you want it full as much as you can.

Exactly which is why you don’t waste that on opening game. That game will be a sell out regardless of opponent, everyone would want to be there.

What will bring more excitement to the OCs beating a team like RIce or any other AAC team that no cares about. We need to  open with a big  blue blood program like Miami ,Texas, Florida, FSU, ND , team similar to that level. WE already have Bama and  BYU that year on the schedule. We have two games with FAU because they joined our conference and we need to replace that with a quality opponent. I would love to play WVU or Pitt for old times sake.

Being that is the first game in a new stadium with only 30,000 seats we dont need a big opponent. FAMU would sell out. they travel well

Um, we already replaced FAU with FIU as the season opener.  That could change again if FIU is in the AAC by 2026.

Well you are not wrong, but I prefer to attach the program with top 50 teams then FAMU or the latest additions to the AAC conference. WE beat our first fbs and AAU opponent in a long time yesterday. I think our last AAU team we beat was GT which amounts to nothing.
